wanted: one or two fedora activity days in the next month [Jan. 12th, 2009|04:05 pm]
[Location |amsterdam, the netherlands]

It looks like we have enough budget to support one or two more Fedora Activity Days (FADs) between now and when Red Hat's fiscal year ends (all expenses must be in by mid-February).

Perhaps there are one or two things coming out of FUDCon last weekend that can continue as a FAD in the next month, to keep the energy going?

The steps for organizing a FAD are on the Fedora wiki.

And if you have an idea for a FAD that will take place in March or later, feel free to propose that too. Community Architecture will have budget to help assist in such things.

Wiki page names

Ian Weller gave an awesome talk at FUDCon Boston 2009 on State of the Wiki and how to use the MediaWiki facilities properly. In our old wiki, organizing pages hierarchically (using "Foo/Bar") was OK, but in MediaWiki those tricks actually stop some of its functions, like search, from working properly.

I moved the FAD organization page to this new location (http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/How_to_organize_a_FAD) -- note the new page title, "How to organize a FAD" -- and there's a redirect from the old location in case anyone uses it.
