Next weekend's FUDCon is the first one that I'm missing in about three years. My next trip to the United States is at the end of January, which will see me in Raleigh doing Manager Stuff like finalizing the team goals and budget for Community Architecture in FY10 (March 2009 - February 2010), and I couldn't stay in the US for the whole month, or make two trips almost back to back. A big chunk of the Community Architecture budget is spent directly on/for Fedora, as many readers of my blog know.

Even though I won't be at FUDCon, my fellow Community Architecture team members (Greg, Karsten, and Jack) will be, and I hope everyone at the event has a productive and fun time next weekend. I'll see you all soon, I'm sure!

Well, we'll miss ya.

I remember coming to my first FUDCon in Raleigh last year. This will be my third FUDCon in a row. I remember sitting near the front of the big conference room in Raleigh, awaiting the presentation.

I remember sitting there, listening to your 'State of Fedora' presentation and thinking, 'wow, this guy is cool and also so normal'. You've been a great influence on me and my involvement in Fedora.

And while I know this FUDCon will be the best ever, it would have even been better with you there. I'm grateful to be able to call you my friend and look forward to working with you over the coming year.

Cheers,

Clint

PS - I hope this doesn't sound too corny, but it just kind of came out this way.

Thanks so much for the nice comments, Clint. I really appreciate them -- it means a lot to me. We'll see each other soon, I'm sure. Enjoy FUDCon!
