I would like to give some public thanks to Jeffrey Tadlock for the work that he has done with the Store SIG.
I started the Store SIG a few months ago when I had some extra time, and as an attempt to bring some sanity to the problems of distributing swag globally, both for individuals and events.
It is a daunting task, and I personally felt bad because after about 2 or 3 meetings, the free time that I had to devote to the Store SIG was sucked away completely by all the work that was needed behind the scenes for Fedora's staffing and budget needs for the coming year. This work was worth it, since it got Paul Frields, Tom Callaway, and Jack Aboutboul established in their new roles, and it also looks like our Fedora budget for the next year is going to be significantly higher than last year.
But the point of this blog post is to highlight community and distributed leadership. Once my time for the Store SIG dried up, Jeffrey Tadlock picked up where I left off and has been making steady progress since.
I'd like to say a big thank you to him, and to everyone else who has been helping on that project. Hopefully I'll be able to circle back around to it soon, and we can discuss the best way to put Red Hat's assets to work in helping the Store SIG with its mission.
